Desktop App

The recommended way to run Btelo Coding on Mac and Windows — one download, no terminal.

Overview

The Btelo Coding desktop app is a full Mac and Windows application with the agent built in. One download, double-click to open, and a guided setup gets you coding — no terminal, no install scripts, no commands to copy.

It is the recommended way to run Btelo Coding on Mac and Windows. (On Linux there is no desktop app — use the CLI agent.)

What you get:

  • Everything bundled. The agent, coding-tool detection, and chat UI ship in one app. Nothing else to install.
  • Code right in the window. Chat with Claude Code, Codex, or the built-in Btelo Agent directly on your computer — a phone is optional.
  • Pair your phone in one scan. The Connect panel shows a QR code; scan it in the iOS app to control this computer from anywhere.
  • Built-in Btelo Agent. A ready-to-go AI agent you can pick from the model switcher, alongside Claude, Codex, and Copilot. Run it with your own DeepSeek or MiniMax key.
  • Completion sounds. Hear a chime the moment an agent finishes its turn, so you can step away and still know when it's ready.
  • Self-updating. Check for updates from Settings, or let the app prompt you.

Download

Pick the build for your platform from the download page:

Platform File
macOS (Apple Silicon · M1–M4) Btelo-Coding-darwin-arm64.dmg
macOS (Intel) Btelo-Coding-darwin-amd64.dmg
Windows (x64) btelo-coding-app-windows-amd64.exe

Windows: run the .exe — it installs and launches the app.

First Launch

A short welcome guide runs the first time you open the app:

  1. Welcome — pick your language.
  2. Coding agent — Btelo Coding runs Claude Code or Codex, the AI that writes and runs code on this machine. The app detects what's installed; if neither is found, it links you to an install guide. You can continue even if nothing is installed yet and add a provider later.
  3. Budget models (optional) — add a DeepSeek or MiniMax API key for a low-cost agent. The app installs the Btelo runtime automatically.
  4. Take Btelo Coding with you (optional) — install the iOS app and scan to control this computer from anywhere.
  5. You're all set — click Start coding.

You can reopen the guide anytime from Settings → Setup guide — your existing configuration is kept.

Pair Your Phone

  1. Open the Connect panel in the desktop app — it shows a pairing QR code.
  2. In the iOS app, tap + (Add Connector) and scan it.
  3. Sessions sync through the relay, so you can start a session on your computer and pick it up on your phone — and vice versa.

See Multi-Device Access to connect more devices.

Settings

  • Model switcher — choose Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, the built-in Btelo Agent, or any other detected provider. Each shows its own logo.
  • Btelo Agent — pick the model it runs (a local model or your own cloud key).
  • Completion sound — choose a sound to play when an agent finishes, or turn it off.
  • Relay — connect through the official relay, a local relay (LAN), or your own server. See Relay Server.
  • Version & updates — see your current version and press Check for updates. When an update is available, Restart & update installs it.

Updating

The desktop app checks for updates on its own. To update manually, open Settings → Check for updates, then Restart & update. Your configuration and sessions are preserved.
